Portraits from a series about Holocaust survivors
A direct link from the present to the past.
Maybe an idea for schools to invite the last remaining witnesses of the Shoa for talks.
It is a strong experience to sit in 2018 next to a person who really witnessed the holocaust, to listen to them, to hear Anita Lasker-Wallfisch talk about how she played the cello in the Auschwitz concentration camp.
I find it incredible that we have the year 2018, smartphones, Internet, modern technology and there are still people among us who were in the holocaust, who vividly recall those times, who remember clearly. It is like a direct path from here to history.
They are all active, give talks, some visit schools, Marko Feingold visitied over 6000 schools in the last 40 years to talk about his experiences
Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, Marko Feingold, Henry Wuga, Kurt Roberg, Walter Frankenstein.
